Pani Puri
It rained cats and dogs last weekend, accompanied by thunder and lightening. It is raining almost daily here. Feels really nice to stand out and smell the mud when it is about to rain. All the trees and plants look so fresh. When I came here in February trees looked as if they were dead and lifeless. Not a single leaf I could find. Now it has blossomed so much that the branches bend down due to the abundance of leaves. In the due course I have found a new friend. In front of our apartment there are two tall and huge trees. It is home for many birds and squirrels. Squirrels are the cutest and funniest creature for me. We get to see many kinds of birds. Some of them come and sit in front f our house. If I keep the main door open, I can see all of them :) I saw one red colored bird one day. It was very beautiful, I had never seen such a kind before. Pratap tried to capture it, but it flew off by the time he opened the camera. Next day when it came, we captured it but the photo was blurred, we didn't find it after this. There are two squirrels which move frequently. There is a mesh compound in front of my house and the squirrel sits and eats his food on the compound. He looks so cute, Pratap calls him my boyfriend ;)))) The squirrel sat steadily for a couple of minutes and so Pratap captured it's many poses. In one pose, it literally turned to our side and stared at us with folded hands. I share some of it's funny pics...... Well..in this weather it will be lovely to have something spicy and hot.....Last week was chats week in our house. I prepared 3 chats, out of which I have put the other 2 already in the blog. And my husband appreciated all of them. Pani puri came out pretty good. Eating these things at home is healthy too. And if you have the ready made puris, the job is even more simple. I brought ready made puris from Indian store, for paani I used MTR Jal Jeera powder. For this chat we need to chop onions, grate the carrots and pressure cook peas(soaked overnight), I used dried peas, for the frozen ones just microwaving for few minutes will do. Now mix the carrot and onion and add mint chutney. No need of salt as mint chutney already has some salt and even Jal jeera has salt in it. Make holes in the puris and stuff the carrot onion mixture. Now put peas and serve it with pani. For a table spoon of Jal Jeera powder add water depending on how concentrated you want the pani to be. And road side chat Pani puri is ready too eat;) related searches : Pani Puri
