Penang trip ? Day 1 in Georgetown, Penang (Part3)

By good meal good deal (Visit website)

Actually I was looking for something refreshing to relieve my thirst until the trishaw passed by a sidewalk. I spotted the crowd lining up in front of a stall. Out of my curiosity, I decided to check it out. What I discovered was the famous Teochew Cendol!

So famous, even visited by Phua Chu Kang before ^^.

Well, this Teochew style cendol generally poured the brown sugar into the shaved ice, topped with the cendul and red beans. But what makes it so famous until the crowd lining up and standing with the bowl under the hot sun?  I must say the brown sugar is great, the cendol is freshly made and the santan (coconut milk) is thick enough.  You will taste a delicate fragrance, which it's hard to find nowadays.  The cendol cost RM1.70 with this secret recipe after all, is worth to try!

Oops! I nearly finish it before I take photo, KH, could I have one more please?

Penang Road, Penang

5 minutes walk from KOMTAR

Off Penang Road, on Lebuh Keng Kwee.

There are 2 stalls; it is the one adjoining Joo Hooi Restaurant. The area can be a bit seedy, so take care when walking over from the Komtar Bus station.
