Pot Roast from Generations

By Kitchen Belleicious (Visit website)

Roast- this one is a long time coming my friends. Why I haven?t done it sooner is beyond me. Pot Roast is one of the very first things I learned to cook with my mom and grandmother and one of the first dishes I turned to when making my wonderful husband his first meal as a newlywed and then again for the first time when my in-laws were visiting. It is a simple go to dish that just wows guests. The smell is intoxicating, the look and presentation is classy, elegant and beautiful and the taste is truly one of those heart warming. It is just satisfying in so many ways.
The meat falls apart just by a nudge from a fork and the gravy brings a layer of sinfully delicious flavors that you can pour over your rice or mashed potatoes (you gotta have one of the other if you are doing a pot-roast).

Seriously, I learned this so long ago and it is something I will never stop making. If you haven?t cooked a roast before please try this recipe and if you have then by all means venture out and give this one a shot! It won?t disappoint- PINKY SWEAR!

This recipe today just brings back so many memories of my mom and Nanny (prissy southern grandmother) teaching me to cook in the kitchen but not only about cooking. Teaching me and inspiring me to act like a lady, what it means to be southern, to do what I love, to honor and serve our Lord. I was over at Red Letter Words the other day trying to figure out which piece I want to buy. Husband said I could get one for our bedroom and now I am on the hunt! Anyhow, I saw a new piece of art that really got my attention. I just love it and immediately thought about my mom and grandmother. So because of this, I thought I would share with ya'll a few things from Red Letter Words that also inspire me, warms my heart and remind me of the type of upbringing I had- and that is focused on the Lord! Dee's scripture verses on her amazing work of art are just breathtaking and so meaningful. I hope you will love the work below as much as I do and visit Red Letter Words to see more of her amazing pieces!
