Power of Positive Thinking
I woke up cranky this morning. However, I’ve heard that the power of positive thinking can do wonders for a bad mood– basically, “fake it until you make it.” This morning, for example, I was in a bad mood about waking up early to exercise. Instead of being poopy pants about it, I decided to “fake” being upbeat and cheerful, which (surprisingly) triggered feelings of happiness in me. Soon, I wasn’t faking it anymore. I’m sure that the feel-good endorphins from my workout helped too, but even still, I’m starting to really believe in the power of positive thinking! If I allow my (negative) feelings to influence my thinking about a particular situation, I ended up reacting (negatively) to them. Instead, if I decide that I want to feel a certain way (”fake it until I make it”), it seems that these (positive) actions create authentic (positive) feelings. It’s a very interesting concept, right? I was truly surprised by my results this morning and just wanted to share. Anyway, onto breakfast! Breakfast I started my day with feel-good Barney Butter on a toasted hemp bagel. Mal also ate a hemp bagel for breakfast this morning and liked it a lot! I’m pretty sure he’s a fan now! On the side, I had a very ripe nectarine. With iced coffee… I’m having coffee with an old friend from college, who wants my advice about blogging. It’s cool/crazy that someone wants to talk to me about blogging!
