Prawn Fry/Shrimp Fry/Royyala Vepudu
![]() Ingredients :
1 Kg Prawns(peeled and washed) 1 small Onion finely chopped 1 tea cup coconut (fresh or powder) Black Pepper (3 table spoons) Whole Red Chilies (5-6, if u want less spicy then just take 2-3) Cloves and Cinnamon (2 each) 1/2 cup cooking Oil(or as you desire) 1 tsp Turmeric salt to taste Method : Grind Coconut,Black Pepper,whole Red Chilies,Clove and Cinnamon in to a fine paste. Heat Oil in a broad Pan. Fry Onions in oil until its very lightly Brown in color but don't burn it. Now add Ginger Garlic paste,Salt and Turmeric and fry for 10 sec or until the raw smell is gone. Now add the grinded paste and fry it for 5 mins in low-medium flame. Now add the Prawns( do not add water now itself),mix well with the masala. Close the lid, low d flame n let it cook for 5 mins. ( do not increase the flame as masala wit out water will get burned) Now just add 1/2 cup of water as Prawns oozes out water. Mix well and check for Salt and Chili. According to your taste bud + or - Salt and Chili( if chili is less then add red chili powder). Once the Prawns are cooked and water evaporates remove the lid and keep frying it in low flame for 5min or until the masala sticks to the Prawns completely. Serve with Sambar/Dal Rice or with any Rice dishes. related searches : Prawn
