Prepping for Raw Food
I decided to get a jump start on the whole raw foods diet. Only because my the Chef had a day off, and I desperately needed to shop sans kids. So, being that everything is fresh, I didn't want my sad looking produce (thanks to the freezing weather) to sit out and get any sadder.
So, with the menu I posted the other day, my prep beings. I will admit, I am optimistic and pretty excited to try something new. I am looking forward to my ungrilled cheeze and tomato, along with my Pizza tonight. But, I have learned just how much prep goes into this. Which is even more work when you are extremely sick (cry me a river, right?). So I begin with the bread: Flaxbread 1 1/2 cup chopped celery (which I hate) 3 tbsp flax seed 1 cup water dehydrate And my cheeze for the week: 1 tsp garlic sea salt 2 cups seeds or nuts (I mixed Brazil, cashews, almonds, and walnuts) 1/4 cup lemon juice water It's not much to look at, but I will say it tastes pretty good. Then we have to work on snacks...for late night and for the Chef while at work. I made a nice pico de gallo for him to bring, along with some Tomato Flax crackers Tomato Flax crackers 2 cups flax seed 2 cups tomatoes 1 tsp garlic 1 cup water dehydrate Tomato flax crackers before Tomato flax crackers after The oats are still dehydrating for cereal to make breakfast as easy as possibly. I have mustard seeds sitting in apple cider vinegar for 2 days for mustard sauce. Cucumbers are pickling as we speak Along with an oregano pizza dough (made just like the flaxbread, just with nuts, instead of flaxseed, and oregano added). This will be for our Garlic Margherita Pizza tongiht. related searches : Prepping
