Presto Pasta Nights

By (Visit website)

Welcome to Presto Pasta Nights #152. I am so excited to be the host this week, my very first time. And this is my 50th post!!  PPN’s founder is Ruth from Once Upon a Feast ! Next week PPN is three years old and Ruth will be the host for #153. With three years worth of pasta recipes,  almost anyone can find something they like. Pasta is so versatile. It can be made as a hot dish or cold dish, a side or main course. There are so many different flavoring combinations that work with almost any type of pasta from ramen noodles to whole wheat linguine to the controversial gnocchi (is is pasta or potato?). Enough talk about pasta, let’s get on to the stars of the party-the recipes and their creators.

Thanks to all who have submitted their works of art.

Daphne at More Than Words offers up this wonderful Japanese dish of Teriyaki Chicken with Ramen . That chicken looks so good. I can’t wait to make this one.

Next is the submission from Katerina at Culinary Flavors. She sends along her Spaghetti Bolognese recipe for us to enjoy. I know you will enjoy this dish as it looks delicious and easy to make.

For a vegetarian offering, Shankari from Sacramento Spice submits her Cold Italian Pasta recipe. I think cold pasta dishes taste wonderful all year-long. And this one includes green olives and smoked olive oil. Sounds great!

The next submission is from Debby at a Feast For the Eyes with her Sardinian Pasta Dinner. It sounds very mysterious! I can’t believe the method she used to figure out how to make this wonderful dish! You have to go read for yourself.

Heather at the Breakup Cookbook sends over this 5 Ingredient Recipe of Spaghetti and Basil Dinner. Can you believe something this good is so easy? I do, because pasta is such an easy food to cook. Look at that basil!

Next we have a wonderful pairing of pork and pasta from Laurie at That’s Not What the Recipe Says.  She makes this beautiful Braised Pork Roast with Rigatoni.  She combines flavorful pork with a red sauce, meatballs, pasta and cheese! (shh, cheese is my favorite next to pasta)

Now we are going to move into an Asian flavored dish by Kit at Kits Chow. She made this dish, Soup Noodles with Dumplings for Chinese New Year and also includes the shopping experience surrounding that holiday. That is what I love about cooking blogs. The writers are so willing to share recipes and the story or experiences that come along with them.

Here we have a wonderful entry from Kait at Pots and Plots. She makes homemade Potato Gnocchi.  Gnocchi is one of the easier pastas to make as you don’t need a machine or have to do a lot of rolling of dough. Give it a try.

Once again to show the versatility of pasta, Katie at One Little Corner of the World  sent this dish, Linguine and Prosciutto Frittatas by Giada de Laurentis.  I think these could be served for any meal, how about you?

Here is another soup to add to our party. Rahda from The Dancing Kitchen sends along this soup called White & green soup ~ zuppa bianca verde . This colorful soup is sure to warm your insides on a cold winter night.

How about we toss in a gluten-free pasta dish just to mix it up? Chaya at Comfy Cook blog discovered that pasta can be made gluten-free and she came up with this tasty recipe one night. It’s called Creamy Mushroom Conchiliette. I am happy to see that even folks on a gluten-free diet can enjoy pasta.

Are you ready for a seafood entry?  Cynthia at The Kitchen Slave sent me the link to her entry, Seafood Black Bean Noodles. This looks spicy and tasty. I hope all the seafood lovers out there will give this one a try.

Simone at Jungle Frog cooking made this super easy but wonderfully eye-appealing dish of Tagliatelle with Saffron, bacon and peas. This cooks up super fast so why not give it a try?

What PPN would be complete without a Mac-n-Cheese dish?  Reeni from Cinnamon Spice & Everything Nice cooked up a great Mac-n-Cheese dish complete with crunchy cheesy topping. Who wouldn’t ask for seconds with this on your table?

Our very own Ruth from Once Upon a Feast and PPN founder has been busy this week. She fixed this Easy Pasta Lunch for Crazy Busy Days.

PPN submits a dish each week as well. Here is where you can find it.

The next recipe is from Gilli at So So Simple Food with a Morocan couscous dish, Excellent Chicken and Morocan Couscous. Not only does she include the main dish recipe but she also includes a dessert with flavors to match the couscous. Her inspiration is from Ina Gartner, the Barefoot Contessa.

Last but not least is my very own offering of homemade lasagna with homemade noodles and sauce. I also use fresh ricotta cheese this time.  I am very pleased with the results.

I hope you enjoyed Presto Pasta Night #152. Be sure to send in your links to Ruth at Once Upon a Feast for Presto Pasta Nights as she hosts the three year birthday celebration of PPN!

Buon Appetito!
