Product Review: DEMY-Kitchen Safe Digital Recipe Reader
Oh..I am in LOVE!! Key Ingredient has just put out a beautiful product very similar to Kindle. Its a touch screen, kitchen safe Digital Recipe Reader. The people at Key Ingredient are letting me test this bad boy for 3 days. 3 very short beautiful days. Alas, I have found what I have been looking for. Right now I use my laptop. Its only a year old but already it is war torn from being in the kitchen. You see I own maybe 5 cookbooks tops. Most of my recipes come from other blogs or recipe sites. I don't have time to write them all out. Most I just copy and paste them to my MS Word Pad.My screen get splattered. It has crumbs underneath the keyboard. A key missing where I tried to get the crumbs out from underneath the keyboard...hello its a laptop....you can't put those stupid things back on. Basically they should just put on the packaging that it is "Christine Proof: Even She Can't Mess It Up!" It is so simple..and I love that because frankly you shouldn't have to dig around too much when your cooking. Cooking and baking is time sensitive! There is a USB cord that plugs into your computer just like a digital camera. You download your recipes through http://www.keyingredient.com/. Now to be honest I am a Allrecipes.com kind of girl. This could convert me though. It's smart. And if a company is this forward thinking....guess what...I will be along for the ride. The Demy also has a ingredient substituter...like agave syrup. They also have a font adjuster so in case you have trouble seeing...it helps you out. Do your cookbooks do that for you? Another thing I like about it is the measurement converter....oh thank God! Your cookbooks are divided into categories like cake or poultry. The Demy can either lay down or it can be propped up higher. So how much does it cost? $299.99. A bit expensive? Yes. But I like to consider it a wise investment. It's so convenient. Now all I have to do is convince my husband to buy me one! Would you like to buy it??? Click here.
