Q/A ? Answers!

By La Fille Naturelle (Visit website)

EDIT: Firstly, I want to thank everyone who took the brainpower to type out 18 or so words to amuse me in response to last day’s fun (or at least I think so!) Getting to Know You questionnaire.  I have a desire to send everyone who answers a crazy package of raw gingerbread men (something I’ve been enjoying recently), but alas, I may just be too crazy.

To be honest, I had been most intrigued to learn what y’all would put for pb & ________.  I don’t know what I was expecting, but I think it was probably along the lines of “pb & seaweed” or something… which is clearly an example of how I set myself up for disappointment.  Oh well!  Here are my own answers to the questionnaire:

Getting to Know You

metal or non-stick? Non-stick, obvssly.
cast iron or stainless?  Don’t cook? So – neither?
cutting board: silicon or wood?  Woody wood wood.  Although I hear bacteria love to grow on wood… But I’m a microbiology major. I can handle anything.
knife: carbon steel or stainless?  I’m pretty sure I’m stainless.
Kitchen Aide or hand mixer? Hand mixers make everything fly everywhere! Kitchen Aide!
cooktop: gas, electric, induction?  Gassy gas gas.
side-by-side, freezer on top, fridge on top?  My current shenanigan is freezer on top, but I prefer the bottom mounts. No reason.
apron or whoops? I’m obsessed with wearing aprons while making magic in the kitchen.  Heck, I even wear them when washing the dishes.
mashed potatoes: by hand, ricer, or mixer? Mashed potatoes? what are those?
sandwich or wrap? Wrap.  A collard wrap, that is. WAHAHAHA.
pb & _________ ? It’s been a while, but can I say cauliflower and dates?
pancakes: syrup or applesauce?  No pancakers, please.
cake: scratch or mix?  If only cakes could be made simply by scratching and mixing.
chili: beans or no?  BEAN-O!!! Yes to beans and all-day flatulence! Woohoo!
napkin: cloth or paper?  Paper.  I never understood why people insist on staining cloths.
BBQ: takes the whole weekend to make or take out? Uh.. do I have the option of throwing it out once I take it out or make it? Unless, of course, we are talking about BBQ veggie kabobs! With the high calibre of my intellectual and mental capacity, those, fortunately, do not take whole weekends to make.
chicken: white or dark? Back in the Popeyes-chowing days – dark. Dark is the way to go.
ice cream: cone or dish? Cones if we’re out, but dishes at home.

I leave you now with the only picture of mine that I have at my disposal.  A screenshot.  (Yes, I am blogging in class. To be fair, I’m listening to someone who’s teaching a half-asleep class how to use Excel… To my left is my TA.  He’s on CNN.com.) Fun times!

Happy Monday!

P.S. When I was much younger, I read an article on multi-tasking featuring this girl who does crunches while on conference calls.  I thought that was ridiculous at the time but now I see that’s not too far from our 21st century reality.  Do you multi-task? For example, I make grocery lists all the time when I’m in class.  I sometimes read the Bible when I’m waiting for the professor to load his slides up.  I even do the laundry and take out the trash (with the other hand and never at the same time, of course) when I’m brushing my teeth!  I already regret telling you that.  Do you multi-task because you have no choice or because you’re addicted to being “productive”?  Should the basis of the measure of productivity should be quantity (i.e. how many things you can get done in a specific time frame) or quality (i.e.  how well each of those things can be done)?
