Ream's Award Winning Bratwurst
![]() When it comes to making a good bratwurst, Ream's Elburn Market, located an hour west of Chicago, sets the standard. Ream's bratwursts are so good that they are national bratwurst champions. Randy Ream, the owner, is even featured in the Cured Meat Hall of Fame and is also the recipient of over 200 awards! The first time I tried one of these bratwursts is something I will never forget. I took a bite, smiled and tried to stop myself from inhaling the rest of it in a single bite. The first thing that comes to mind when you try a Ream's bratwurst is simply, "Wow". The all natural casings give this bratwurst a great texture and the juices released are unbelievably good. The taste is lightly peppery with a big sausage flavor stealing the show. There are no masking flavors in a Ream's bratwurst. The blending of the meat and spices is perfect. Perfect. Basically, think of the best bratwurst you have ever eaten and up the flavor profile ten times. Throw in a little mustard and kraut and you are in for a wonderful treat. So if you're ever in Elburn, IL be sure to stop in at Ream's Elburn Market, located at 128 North Main Street, pick up a little taste of heaven on earth. (Their smoked cheddar cheese is also unbeatable.) http://www.pizzabeer.net
