Recipe Winner to be Announced!
Hey friends! Sorry for the late start today. The time change has me out all out of sorts and John and I are still recovering from a very full weekend of visiting friends and family and celebrating our 1-year wedding anniversary. Which reminds me, thank you to everyone who left such sweet comments on yesterday’s post. Each one made me smile big and feel well loved. So thank you! OK, so I know I promised that I would choose a winner for my “Gimme Your Recipes” contest and I have been looking over them again this morning. The problem is they all look so good! The the good news is I have narrowed them down to a few submissions and plan to make the recipe sometime today. That means I will announce the winner soon and will likely post the video of me eating it TOMORROW instead of today. Sorry for the delay! I appreciate your patience. In the meantime, please oogle at these photos of this celebratory peanut butter hot fudge sundae I had yesterday at Braum’s with John and his family. That would be two scoops of peanut butter cup ice cream topped with way too much peanut butter and hot fudge and a mound of whipped cream and a cherry. If you’re wondering, yes I ate it all. And yes, I am still regretting it a little. It was one of the most decadent desserts I’ve eaten in a long time and was just a little too rich, even for me. But what’s the point of food regrets, right? I ate it and it was dang good. End of story. On a non-food note, we had so many of our friends and family members give us anniversary cards over the weekend and we sincerely appreciated each and every one. One of our married couple friends, Jamin and Lisa, gave us a beautiful card that featured one of Jamin’s art prints. Isn’t it gorgeous? So simple and elegant. Jamin’s a painter and he produces beautiful work. He has a collecion of his artwork on display right now at Mead’s Corner in Wichita (if you live in the area and are interested). And he also has a Web site showcasing all of his paintings and prints, which you can find here. Give it a look if you have a chance. If you’re like me, getting a unique, handcrafted card is the best. I much prefer them over Hallmark cards. Although you can’t purchase his artwork directly over his site, you can e-mail him and I’m sure he’d be glad to work out an arrangement with you. His artwork is very reasonably priced and I know you’d be more than pleased with what you get. Alright, off to do more recipe scouting. This is hard work! Hope you’re all having a lovely Monday.
