Today I am blogging about some really great sites and some of their recipes. These are recipes that I have made and are definitely worth mentioning. I hope you will give them a try if you already haven't. The first one is from
Southern Plate, It is no big secret that I love Christy's site. Me and southern food go hand in hand. We made Christy's
Baby Boston Cream Pies. Actually a we have made them a couple times now, my kids just love them. They could eat the pudding mixture right out of the bowl. The filling taste just like the filling pudding in a true Boston cream pie. I have also made Southern Plate's
Pintos and Ham, her Mama's Apple Pie, Biscuits, Apple Orchard Cake, Chocolate Gravy and more. If you haven't checked out Southern Plate you need to stop by and pay Christy a visit.
Mackenzie gave the Baby Boston Cream Pies a thumbs up.
Baby Boston Creme Pies
1 can biscuits (five or ten count, NOT the flaky layers type)
Vegetable Oil
Sugar free french vanilla pudding (small box)
1 1/2 Cups fat free or low fat milk
8 ounces Fat free or light whipped topping
1 can chocolate frosting
Pour oil in skillet to depth of 1/2 inch. Place on medium heat and let heat up for about five minutes to make sure the oil is good and hot. Place biscuits in hot oil, turn as soon as they become brown and let brown on both sides. Remove to paper towel lined plates.
To make filling, mix pudding and milk together in mixing bowl, blend well. Add whipped topping and mix until well blended. Stir with spatula from the bottom a few times to continue mixing. Place in icing bag with tip or oral syringe and pipe into doughnuts from the side.
Heat chocolate frosting in microwave for about thirty seconds, until it is of glaze consistency. Pour into small bowl. Dip the top of each creme pie into icing and place on plate to serve.

The second site is
Patti?s Pantry. I found Patti's site a while back when i first started blogging. Her dishes remind me of my own, good home cooking. I can personally say that her
Fresh Banana Pound Cake, pictured above is fantastic. I have also made the
Oreo Truffles and her
Cheese Log. Patti has the cutest little granddaughter and I love reading all the stories about her family. I hope Patti continues to add more wonderful recipes to her site. Go check out some of them.
The last site I want to mention is
Real Mom Kitchen, I made Laura's
Marshmallow Brownies for the Superbowl party I went to. These brownies were such a big hit the whole pan was cleaned out by the end of the night. I actually had to make a second batch the following day, because my husband never did get one of the brownies. I love the marshmallow filling and the homemade frosting on top. Laura has great recipes sure to please anyone, I cant wait to try her
Sticky Coconut Chicken and a few other recipes.
Yesterday was my 10Th Wedding Anniversary. My husband surprised me last night with a gift I wasn't expecting. It has been a bit tight around our house recently you see all 3 of our kiddos came down with three different illnesses at the same time last week one of them still being sick. Plus two of the kids birthdays, DH's birthday and mine next month, doesn't leave a whole lot of extra money around this time. We usually don't really do anything on our anniversary because of all the birthdays so close together. We agreed this year that we would do something together without the kids at a later time. Well this year he surprised me and I so wasn't expecting this at all.
I have been eyeing Paula Deen's Cookware Set for awhile now, but I knew it was kind of expensive. I was so blown away last night when my husband walked in and told me to sit down and close my eyes. Surprise said my daughter Mackenzie!!!! It was so sweet she said mama that's what you have been wanting. I couldn't be happier and I cant wait to use it. My husband knows not to get jewelry for me. I am just not a big jewelry person, besides my wedding ring, mothers ring and my birth stone babies necklace that's really all the jewelry I wear. He knows just what to get a girl like me!!! something for the kitchen!!!!!! Awesome is all I can say, what should I cook first? Oh the possibilities.
