Rice Krispie Treats Take a Twist
My friend, Marsha Cooper, was my inspiration to resurge the Rice Krispie Treats and now I have been on a quest for the unusual in this delicacy. Marsha, this one is for you.
4 regular size Milky Way Bars (you can use Mars too) 1/2 cup of butter (the real deal) 1 package (10oz about 40) regular marshmallows - or - 4 cups of miniature marshmallows 8 cups of Kelloggs Rice Krispies 1 cup of milk chocolate chips, optional Melt butter, marshmallows and candy bars over medium-low heat in large saucepan until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in Rice Krispies. Press into a 15x10" or 13x9" pan with buttered spoon back or buttered hands. At this point you can leave them to set and cut up to serve or, top with chocolate chips and place under broiler for 30 seconds. Remove from oven and spread chocolate evenly over squares and place in refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour to set. You can also sprinkle mini chips over top and leave as is and enjoy. I usually omit the chocolate chips. I store mine in a Tupperware pie saver and place a piece of parchment paper between the layers. related searches : Rice
