Sasa lounge - Almere

By Junglefrog Cooking (Visit website)

Sasa-lounge Almere

Sasa-lounge Almere

This is maybe a weird review as I have not actually eaten anything in the Sasa lounge (yet) but I wanted to share this great restaurant with you anyway. :) I had the opportunity to take photos here for an assignment for the city council as part of a project where they want to increase the visibility of Almere as a tourist destination but also for more local people to show that there is a lot to be found in Almere and Almere Haven in particular. For those of you who are not familiar with Almere; it’s a very new city, build on an area that used to be water in the middle of Holland. It’s now  approximately 30 years old, which is ofcourse very young for a city.

So there are a few things that we do not have; we do not have old buildings or any history or cultural background, but there are also a lot of good things about Almere. I’ve lived here for 18 years now, so there must be something good right? :)

Anyway, I’ve shown a couple of photos before of this assignment but I went to this restaurant later. It’s technically called a tapas bar but the atmosphere is great and you have to agree with me that the food is pretty goodlooking too. It’s a fairly new restaurant in the harbour of Almere Haven and it has a distinct oriental feel to it. From the decor when you walk in, to the little details on the table, to the food. They even have some old waterpipes! But… since smoking is banned; obviously those are just for decoration.

So if you’re ever in the area and are looking for a nice restaurant with a good atmosphere head over to the Sasa lounge!
