Satisfying Samples
If you watch The Rachel Ray Show you might know that she features a "Snack of the Day". While it's frightening to think that there are so many snacks out there that the feature will never end, it does showcase snacks you might never have heard of. Of course the flip side is that they also feature snacks that you might never see in your region of the country. Ah, the beauty and the scourge of internet ordering. Many snacks were featured at the Fancy Food Show back in January. One company that markets a few was Kateri Foods. I was happy to receive a sample box and gleefully ate my way through it. The company mostly features their Crickle products. Crickle is their version of brittle. You can see that the candy looks light and airy. Their literature says, "A secret ingredient makes Crickle brittles the lightest, crunchiest, and most irresistible brittle around." Quite right. I don't know how they do it, but this airy, whipped brittle doesn't break your teeth and makes it a treat to eat. They had sent me the cashew brittle and my only complaint is - needs more nuts! Their Pop Crickle is candied popcorn with nuts. They sent me a bag named Sweet Heat and I LOVED it! It had just the right amount of cayenne that as you ate it you enjoyed the traditional sweetness of the caramel coating but then a sweet heat did indeed slowly show up on your palate. I will definitely buy this if I come across it in the store. I enjoyed the chocolate covered pretzels called Popzels and the ranch flavored, crunchy Snack n Veggies. The latter consists of super crunchy veggies like green beans, carrots, squash, taro and sweet potatoes. I look forward to putting the Omega Munchies (caramelized flaxseed walnuts) on my salads and yogurt. But those Crickle products... Definitely winners. related searches : Satisfying
