Saturday: Healthy snacks for kids - First try at Granola Bars
I have been meaning to try to make homemade granola bars as first it is cheaper than buying, second, I can add the ingredients we all like here at home and of course I know exactly what they have in them. Thanks to a fellow blogger I had the exact information to get started on them. I decided this time around just to go through what I had at home and just throw different ingredients without much thought. My toddler wanted to help out and was enjoying eating bits and pieces of what we were adding. End result: seems everyone that tried them loved them, they are filling (apart from my teen who does not think so!). Now I cannot wait to start making more of these. INGREDIENTS1 cup sunflower seeds 2 cups of oats 2 cups raisins 1 cup chocolate chips 2.5 cups of Great Grains - raisins, dates & pecans cereal - Post a toddler handful of whole-wheat cheerios (cause she REALLY wanted to add them!) 1 cup maple syrup 1/2 cup homemade peanut butter 1 cup of honey peanut butter 2 tbsp nutella 1 cup of wildflower honey DIRECTIONSPre-heat the oven to 325 degrees Add and mix well all of the liquid and wet ingredients together in a large bowl Add all dry ingredients and keep on turning until the wet ingredients are well incorporated into the dry ones Pack nice and tightly into a 9x13 pan and keep on packing as much as you can Place it in the oven for about 25 minutes remove and let it chill inside the fridge for about 1 to 2 hours Cut the bars into rectangles or squares related searches : Saturday
