Saved by the Salad Bar
Well, that "nap" I sniffed out earlier turned into a night's worthy slumber! I found myself curled up on the couch barely able to lift my lids, and surrendered to the bounty of pillows beneath me. I find it hard sometimes to determine whether I need to "get up and get moving" or "stop and rest". My mother was a big fan of the "get up and get moving" scenario whenever I cried "tummyache!" on Monday mornings, and I think she still haunts me! I guess I was living on a prayer that by getting out of the apartment and moving some energy I would feel better, but sadly this lady is going down fast. I woke up feeling all sorts of wrong, and not to mention soaked in sweat. I promptly made my way to the shower and rinsed off the icks, to no avail. I may or may not be getting... dun dun dun! sick. Now, this would explain my less than stellar appetite, and the current hiatus my taste-buds have taken from my mouth. I like to practice denial though, so please, let me be. To avoid the tragic dish pan hand scenario, I found myself belly up to the Whole Foods Salad bar. I had a serious hole in my heart and the only thing worthy was vegetables. All I wanted was a big honkin salad, so salad it was. ![]() An assortment of baby lettuces and vegetables sprinklings of raisins, wheatberries, and other such treasures. Lentil soup peeking out for some protein I brought this all back to my parents house to eat in the presence of furry things, my momma and their new flat screen TV. ;) Upon my return I supplemented with a bowl of Puffins before retiring to the couch to do it up potato style. Peanut butter and Cinnamon Puffins swimming with some fruits in a pool of hemp milk Night Night!
