Secondhand Finds, More from the Sales & Crochet
As you may remember, last week I went op shopping (thrifting for those of you in the US) with my mum. As promised here are the things I found... Two Enid Blyton books from the 60's. I use to love reading these books as a kid in the 90's and after seeing a few other bloggers finding older copies of Enid Blyton books, I wanted to add some to my 'old book' collection. My mum actually spotted this next book and I quickly snatched it away lol. 'The Big Book for Tinies' how cute is the name! This book doesn't have a date in it, but a little message in the front is dated 1935. Here's a couple of the pages from inside the book... So sweet aren't they? If youv'e been reading for a while you would know that I have a small teacup collection. I found a couple more! I love the colours of this first one. They actually had about 4 sets for sale, but I only like buying odd teacups, so 1 was enough for me :) This one here just happened to have my birth month on it! And for only $3.50 I couldn't resist picking it up. My mum bought this next one for me, im not sure what its called but we were thinking its to pick up cakes or savories at say a high tea perhaps? Its silver as well, so I think it will polish up nicely. In the last couple of weeks Ive bought some more things in the post-christmas sales. At the moment I love anything and everything pearls, I found these earrings and necklace... ...and these bracelets...
It goes perfectly with my powder puff pink throw rug too. What do you think? a little wonky maybe haha I learnt how to make it by following (or should I stay stopping and starting at least 50 times!) this video. Yesterday I also came across a great blog which is going through step by step how to crochet a granny square. A new step is posted each day, so it is great for beginners if your willing :) Here are four yarns ive bought so far for my squares (baby blue, pink, purple and lavender). I think I will be buying more pastel colours to add.
