Sparkle & Shine
My goodness. Today’s weather is perfect. It’s 65*F, sunny with a cool breeze, and not a cloud in the sky. Amazing. In fact, the weather is so nice, I couldn’t wait to get outside and take Murphy for his long walk. I ended up walking him before lunch instead of afterwards like I usually do.
I also wanted to air-dry my hair.
Blow drying my hair is one of my least favorite activities. I avoid it as much as possible. After a relaxing hour-long walk with my favorite dog, I got a little crazy with the toothpaste!
Ok, that’s a lie. I had some tarnished silver jewelry that needed cleaning. Did you know that many silver cleaners include a mixture of baking soda and water? The formula is similar to what’s in most tubes of toothpaste, so now it’s what I use to clean my silver jewelry– well, the cheap stuff. I don’t use toothpaste to clean my “fancy” silver jewelry. Here’s what my silver jewelry looked like before:
Unfortunately, my camera didn’t capture the tarnish very well, but, trust me, it was pretty bad. So, here’s what I did: I squeezed out a little bit of toothpaste and rubbed it all over the jewelry. The tarnish immediately started to come off. I added more toothpaste as needed and continued to rub until it my jewelry sparkled again. Then, I rinsed each piece in warm water and dried them with a soft towel.
Good as new!
Check out the difference between my two earrings. The right one is tarnished; the left one was just cleaned with toothpaste. Pretty cool, right?
Lunch Today’s lunch rocked! I had two seeded spelt crackers with buffalo sauce, melted mozzarella, and green bell pepper.
On the side, I had a small bowl of plain yogurt with honey and walnuts on top.
Sweet + savory.
Tonight, I’m having dinner with my mom and sister at my mom’s new house. I can’t wait to see it! related searches : Sparkle
