Spice up Breakfast

By Homewarming (Visit website)

This may look like a weird combination, but it is how our morning normally looks like.

Noodle, rice and bread are the stable food in our home. Although we were raised from different food, but now we are eating like each other. The smells and tastes explode in our kitchen like crazy. We are not shy to eat meaty or heavy breakfast. I think it?s good to wake up to something new, something different, and something you really want to eat. Why limit the choice to eggs and bacon, if you want steak or cake then goes for it. After all breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

Morning is the time I love to have a dose of spices. The house was infused by the zesty burn of organic dried red chili I bought a few days ago. It made Yaseen sneeze several times, and he laughs about it. He was eager to see

I put these burning hot pods in the blender and roughly blend them to flakes. I stored these aromatic hot flakes in the container. They are great on pasta, noodle, and sauce. I couldn?t wait to use them.

So with the regular egg sandwich we love, I quickly stir fried some noodle to try out my chili flakes.

Quick Stir Fry Rice Vermicelli (4 serving)

100 gm- Rice vermicelli- uncooked

200 gm Chicken- sliced

1 egg- beaten

3 cloves garlic- minced

1/2 onion- sliced

1/2 cup sliced cabbage

1 spring onion- finely chopped

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tsp sugar

1 tbsp fish sauce or 1 tsp salt

1 1/2 tbsp oil

Soak rice vermicelli in boiling hot water for 3-5 minutes or until soft and cook. Drain and keep aside.

Heat the wok or medium pan over the medium-high heat and add oil.

Add garlic and sauté until golden brown.

Add chicken and stir until chicken is cooked.

Add beaten eggs and stir to separate egg in small pieces.

Add onion and cabbage and stir for 1 minute.

Add cooked rice vermicelli, soy sauce, sugar and fish sauce or salt. Mix until everything is coated with the seasonings. Spring some spring onion over and give it a quick stir. Turn the heat off and serve.

I love sprinkle some sugar, chili flakes, drizzle some vinegar and add extra fish sauce in my steamy hot bowl of noodle. If you have never try to make chili flake at home, trust me it is very enjoyable experience. But you have to be careful about your eyes and skin because they have such a strong heat.

Try a small amount of spicy chili flakes in your recipe first, when you comfortable with how it taste then your imagination will run wild.
