Spiderweb Cookie Dough Truffles
I've run across this cookie dough truffle recipe in various places over the net. I'm glad that I tested it out, but I don't care for it. When I took a bite of the chilled cookie dough center I tasted the flour....and let me tell you raw flour is a flavor I hanker for in a truffle...ehehehe. They aren't terrible, but they aren't great either. Definitely won't be making this again.
This was quite the sticky dough. It did not want to roll easily into balls so I went with flat shapes and in the spirit of Halloween I did some cute little spiderwebs. Honestly I like my truffle centers to be a little more on the manageable side. Spiderweb Cookie Dough Truffles 1/2 cup tub margarine 3/4 cup brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla 14oz can non fat sweetened condensed milk 2 1/4 cups unbleached flour 1/2 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips 18oz milk chocolate chips 4oz white chocolate chips 3 to 4 tbls shortening Combine margarine, sugar, vanilla, and sweetened condensed milk. Add the flour. Fold in mini semi sweet chocolate chips. Chill dough for at least an hour to firm up enough to form into centers for dipping. Take spoonfuls of dough and form rounds, placing them on a sheet of waxed paper. Freeze centers to harden them enough for dipping. Melt milk chocolate chips and 3 tbls shortening together in the microwave, stirring often to prevent overheating. Melt white chocolate and remaining shortening in the microwave as well. Spoon the white chocolate into a ziplock bag with a tip cut off for piping. Dip one of the cookie dough centers in your milk chocolate. Using your ziplock bag, pipe a dot in the center of the dipped chocolate. Then pipe three rings around that center point. Use a toothpick to drag from the center of the truffle out to the edges to form your spiderweb. Repeat with remaining centers. Chill until ready to serve. related searches : Spiderweb
