Spring Onion Kootu
Ingredients: Spring onions - 1 bunch (chopped) Toor dal - 1 cup Red chilly - 2 nos Onion - 1 no (chopped) Tomato - 1 no (chopped) Chilly powder - 1 tsp Coriander powder - 1 tsp Garam masala - 1/2 tsp Salt to taste Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp Method: 1) Heat oil in pan, add cumin seeds, onion and saute till it becomes soft. Now add the tomatoes and saute for few minutes. 2) Add the chopped spring onions, salt, chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala, little water, simmer and close the lid. 3) Pressure cook the toor dal till fully cooked and keep aside. 4) Heat oil in a separate pan, add mustard seeds and red chillies, after spluttering, add the cooked dal to it and mix well. 5) When the spring onions appears fully cooked and the raw taste is completely gone, add the above dal mixture to this and stir well. Saute at regular intervals till the content becomes little dry. Serve hot. related searches : Spring
