Sprouted Kamut - Sausage and Pepper Bread With Walnut Pate
Sprouted kamut bread is really filling and chewy, and the most reminiscent of any non-raw(SAD) food I've ever prepared. And... W LOVES his sandwiches.
This sandwich is topped with a delicious walnut pate. Walnut Pate 1 1/2 cup soaked walnuts 1 clove garlic, chopped 1/4 cup onion 1 stalk celery, chopped 1 carrot, chopped 1 Tbsp lemon, juice fresh parsley, chopped 1 Tbsp kelp powder (optional) 1 Tbsp dulse flakes (optional) sea salt, to taste Process nuts until well ground. Add remaining ingredients and process until creamy. Sausage and Pepper Bread I used my Rawfully Tempting Basic Bread Dough as the base: Sprouted kamut, soaked sunflower seeds and oat groats, apple, ground flax, onion and a few other goodies. (See Sprouted Kamut Pizza for more details) I added marinated/dehydrated peppers and garlic, along with sausage(Rawsages) to the mixture and came up with this very hearty bread recipe. Enlarge this picture and look at the lovely texture of this bread! LOVE IT! Using the same recipe, I formed a 2 small bun halves. This took much longer to dehydrate, but W liked the feel of it. It was thicker and chewy.
