Squaaash cont.

By Blog of Shannon (Visit website)

HI!  I'm so glad it's the weekend.  I had another not-so-great Friday.  As soon as I got to work, my pager went off twice!  My pager never goes off, much less x 2.  And it was my boss and another director paging me about two completely separate issues.  AHH!  I believe it's all fixed now, but next week shall tell.  Before the craziness that was work started, I did some yoga.  About 40 minutes of dynamic flow yoga.  It was nice.  I tried the crane pose again and got into it for maybe 1 whole second.  Or maybe that's just me stretching the time a bit.  Either way, it always feels great to stretch the ol' muscles out first thing in the morning.  However, yoga was not the highlight of my morning.  This beauty was the highlight of my morning (had to use the flash in the picture as there was no natural light due to a thundaaa storm):

I present to you: butternut squash oatmeal.  SOOOO GOOOOD!  In the mix:
1/3 cup oats, hemp milk, water1 tbsp flax
~1/2 cup butternut squash from last night, pureed in the blender
Squash seedsCashew butter100% pure maple syrup drizzled on topWhat a way to get a vegetable in your day, no?  It was so sweet and delicious.  My tummy was very happy.  Even though I was slightly fradazzled at work this morning, my staff had gotten me a Boss's Day card.  They all signed it with sweet messages.  I felt old, very old for 23, lol.  Once I got home for lunch, I made a simple plate:

Banana and Barney Butter quesadilla (heaven in a La Tortilla wrap!) grilled on the foremanCarrotsCelerySpinach & Artichoke hummusIt hit the spot.  Since I got a veggie in at breakfast (that does count, right?!), I decided to treat myself with the quesadilla for lunch.  And it was Friday.  Why not?  It's healthy.  And. so. good.  The rest of the day was much less eventful then the beginning.  My afternoon did include explaining UF Homecoming and Gator Growl to one of the doctors (homecoming is this weekend).  I also washed my car for the first time in..........months?  I'm selling it.  So if you know anyone who wants a 2001 Mustang, I've got the hook-up...because I am the hook-up...  $4000 OBO:

I really do love this car :).  She's seen me through a lot.  I'm buying my mom's car (2006 Nissan Altima), and she is in turn getting a new car.  I'm very excited for her.  Hopefully she gets her "dream car."  ALSO, it was cool out whenever I washed my car.  FINALLY!  Hopefully the cool air is here to stay.

For dinner I used a new meat product.  GreenWise sun dried tomato chicken sausage from Publix.  Quite good.  Thad liked it, too.  Since I was lacking in the green vegetable department today, I decided to make a stir fry:

1/2 a sausage, diced1/2 green pepper, slicedRed onion, couple of "rings"1/4 of a tomato
Brocolli+ corn on the side.  Awesome dinner.  I've eaten good today.  I do on most days, though.  But today was very good.  Off to shower, find something sweet, sleeeep.  Long run planned for tomorrow.  Hooray for coolish weather!
