Staycation: Healdsburg, CA
![]() I signed-up BJ and I to take a mozzarella cheese making class at Relish Culinary Adventures in downtown Healdsburg and we decided to turn the trip into a weekend staycation. We've visited Marin and Napa counties plenty of times but have never explored this charming town. ![]() The first thing we did upon arrival is look for lattes. It wasn't too difficult as there were several local cafes to choose from but we eventually decided on Costeaux, a cute french bakery a few blocks away from the cooking school. I like how there were no recognizable coffee chains in the center of the town, at least we didn't see the retail stores. We've been up since 6:30am and our stomachs were growling by the time we arrived to Healdsburg. This buttered ham and cheese baguette hit the spot. After grabbing our late breakfast, we wandered around the Healdsburg Farmer's Market. Excited to see that cherries are finally in season.Aside from organic fruits and vegetables, the farmer's market included tables with local crafts and pottery. These dried gourds reminded me that my grandmother use to make the same thing with the gourds from our family garden. These can be hung as decorations or made into other items such as bird feeders. It looks like BJ had as much fun snapping pics of me taking photos for my blog! The park in the middle of the town. We stayed only a night in Healdsburg but I could see ourselves coming back to enjoy the fine foods and wine again and again. related searches : Staycation
