Stracotto al Chianti

One of my favorite weekend escapes is checking out the (new to me) recipes on David Rocco's La Dolce Vita. His show focuses on exploring and living the sweet life in Italy and I've just caught onto it through the Cooking Channel, which I also think is relatively new for U.S. audiences.



I made David Rocco's stracotto al chianti this weekend for supper. It might be 70 degrees during the day, but once the sun sets, the house gets quite chilly which makes this rustic Tuscan beef pot roast perfect for a cold night. There are other stracotto recipes online, but I prefer this one as it is simple and has few ingredients. I followed Rocco's recipe pretty closely using grass fed California beef but added carrots and a few mushrooms. You can find the recipe here. It's delicious!
