Sundays at One Food Club 9/ HGTV Dream Home 2011 Kitchen

By cocina diary ?diary of a foodie (Visit website)

Alright ladies, today I am not posting a recipe, but it will be sweet nonetheless because I have some eye candy for you.  Feast your eyes in the HGTV Dream Home 2011 Kitchen!  If you did not see the unveiling of the house today, don't worry because they'll be showing it all this month.  This alpine lodge home located in Stowe, Vermont is stunning of course (and I am going to win it, for sure) ;-) but as someone who loves to cook, I was immediately in a Pavlovian mode once I saw the kitchen: show kitchen, start drooling.  It is beautiful, and the perfect size to prepare meals for the 14 people the house can sleep.

I love how they combined the mountain lodge feel but with a modern twist.  The color palette, which was inspired by the bark of birch trees is simple and elegant, but with that organic feel that makes it warm and inviting.  I am not too sure about the white quartz countertops, but looks beautiful.  And did you see the ginormous farm kitchen sink?  Looovve it...  Now, I am an appliances girl, so let's talk that.  This kitchen has everything you can imagine, including 2 dishwasher...pure heaven.  What about this amazing sub-zero refrigerator? I really like the glass doors and all the bottom storage.  And the range.. I really like how they put it on the island so you can talk to your guests while you cook, or look out the windows at the stunning views.

That 13-foot long island is really anchored by that massive hood. Isn't it amazing?  Maybe a little hard to clean on top but nonetheless it really anchors this kitchen and becomes like a big metal sculpture.

This is simply breathtaking...sorry I am daydreaming here.... ok, I'm back!

Because I have to add a backsplash to my own kitchen I have been looking for ideas that are not too crazy, and I think I found my inspirations.  I love the use of this little tiles, which also continues the theme of the birch bark.  It is just lovely.

And check out this entertainment area.  I am not a big techy kind of girl, but I wouldn't mind this in my kitchen.

And this entertainment area boasts more appliances like warmer, a refrigerator, a wine cellar...oh, I'm in love!  And I don't care who knows it!!!!! :-)

In case you cannot tell, I love the kitchen, and the house as a whole.  So, get ready because when I win the house, I am throwing a big food bloggers party and you are all invited! :D

Now, go ahead and link to this party and share your delicious recipes.  Can't wait to see what you've been cooking.
