Supreme Bean Coffee Cafe - Bellingham, Washington

By la pure mama. (Visit website)

Ok, I'm labeling this under 'reviews' and 'random thoughts': 'reviews' because I want to say how fantastic this place is and 'random thoughts' because the thought of writing a post popped randomly into my head as I was driving to pre-school with Mrs. Lee's just-purchased Supreme Bean gift certificate in one hand and my double tall half decaf soy latte in the other, reflecting on the warm fuzzies I always get when I go to the Supreme Bean, which is fairly often. Disclaimer: it is not safe to drive with your hands full :)

Being a blogger, I like to think that I am a person of influence, even in the smallest degree. I know Bellingham isn't very big in the grand scheme of blogging, and most people only find my blog because they're 'Googling' or surfing Foodbuzz or one of the other sites I post for; that is with the exception of my sister-in-law who told me she reads my blog every day. I love you Erin!

I first came across the Supreme Bean on my way to drop Noodle off for pre-school; it's on the way and I was running late so I thought I'd branch out from my 'usual' spot and give it a whirl. I was really impressed with the coffee and the service! I told my mom (who is also a picky coffee drinker) and she gave it a try and had the same reaction. She must have chatted them up because she learned that it is family owned and operated and they use local ingredients, which is so fantastic. One of their local products is the coffee; it really is the best! They use a local roasting company, Hammerhead Coffee Roasters. I don't know what they do but that joe is darn good! The Supreme Bean website tells more about who they are, their products, etc... check it out; it's a great site.

My point being, if you live in Bellingham, visit Bellingham or know someone in Bellingham, please please go to Supreme Bean. The coffee is fantastic (and I am a picky coffee drinker), I think it's better than Starbucks... yes, I said it. The food is delicious (Noodle and I love the sandwiches) and most important of all, the people are some of the friendliest most accomodating people I have had the opportunity to meet. it is clear that they enjoy what they do... I mean, I like it so much I want to work there!

Local businesses like this are exactly what we should be supporting; people who love what they do, love their community and offer high-quality fantastic, local products.

I hope you go, you won't be disappointed!
