Sweet Pongal / Sakkara Pongal
SAKKARA PONGAL It is a popular rice dish in South India. Very sweet and is very popular in Temple as a prashadam, offered to God. It is also preparaed on Pongal festival in South India actually in Tamil Nadu Cuisine : South Indian Preparation time : 15 mins Cooking time : 15 mins Course : Main Main Ingredients : Jaggery and Rice. Ingredients : Jaggery - grated 2 cups Rice - cooked 1 cup Ghee - 1/2 cup Cashew - 1/2 cup Cardamom Crushed - 1 tbsp Preparation : Pressure cook rice. Cook well.Heat a pan with ghee. Then add cashew and cardamom. Let it brown.Take out cashews in a bowl. Now add rice to the pan and grated jaggery to it.Let the jaggery melt and mix well with rice. Now add cashew and cardamom to it.Serve it hot. Serving per recipe : 5 Calories per serving : 175
