Taking the Plunge
![]() Good Afternoon! I hope everyone is having a lovely Thursday. So I am seeking advice from all of you and wanted to see if any of you have tried the Vibram FiveFingers? I am thinking of taking the plunge and buying a pair of these running shoes. Unlike any other running shoe on the market. A breakthrough in running shoe design,Bikila® is our first model designed specifically to promote a more natural, healthier and more efficient forefoot strike. While many folks have been running in their Vibram FiveFingers® for years, the Bikila® is our first model created exclusively for a more natural running experience. They do look a little funny but I literally saw a man running barefoot in the park this morning and have been reading a lot of research about the benefits of running barefoot and am thinking it is high time I give these a try. Free your feet to perform at their best. The benefits of running barefoot have long been supported by scientific research. And there is ample evidence that training without shoes allows you to run faster and farther with fewer injuries. No footwear comes closer to recreating this natural sensation than Vibram FiveFingers®. It allows you to land on your forefoot, directly below your center of gravity, resulting in optimum balance, increased stability, less impact and greater propulsion. Running in FiveFingers delivers sensory feedback that improves agility and equilibrium and allows immediate form correction. In addition it stimulates and strengthens muscles in the feet and lower legs. In FiveFingers, you get all the health benefits of barefoot running combined with our patented Vibram® sole that protects you from elements and obstacles in your path. As with any new sport or activity, Vibram recommends you consult your physician or a medical professional to see if natural running in FiveFingers is right for you. If any of you have these shoes or have tried them please let me know your thoughts? I had a very wet run this morning and I have trashed yet another pair of running shoes so I have been cleaning out my closets and gathering up all my retired running shoes. It feels so good to purge! On the food front, I started off the morning with a fabulous Raspberry Spinach Smoothie. Have I mentioned how much I love the Vitamix 5200! Raspberry Spinach Smoothie 1 cup So Delicious Unsweetened Coconut Milk 1 cup frozen raspberries 2 cups fresh spinach 1 scoop whey protein powder 1 tbsp chia seeds Put all of the above ingredients in the Vitamix. Turn it on with a variable of 1 and then quickly turn up to 10 and then High. Blend for about a minute and then enjoy! This is not the most beautiful picture but this smoothie was Awesome! Raspberries and Spinach go well together and it was a refreshing way to start the day. The weather is so funny here. It is gorgeous outside right now but earlier this morning it started off sunny, turned to rain and clouds and now back to sunshine. I am definitely ready for some more sunshine and am looking forward to spring break! We are off to New Orleans where I am hoping it is a tad bit warmer and full of sunshine. I admit I miss wearing my flip-flops and will have to break out the tanning cream before we leave so I don't scare anyone with my ghostly white legs! I had to run some errands today and ended up eating lunch at Whole Foods. I had a fabulous salad along with a can of Coconut Water. Yum! I am going crazy with my love of all things coconut! The C20 coconut water was super hydrating and delicious. Okay, it is time for me to go back to work. Have a fabulous rest of the day!
