Tasty Peanut Butter Dog Treats
I’ve tried making dog treats for our Shitzuh-Poodle mix (her name is Nibbler) and they typically just end up tasting like flour cookies and have nearly no taste. I’m a discerning eater, and I like to think my dog is too so I modified a simple peanut butter treat recipe to cut out half the flour, creating a more powerful peanut butter taste that I’m sure Nibbler will appreciate. This also has the added benefit of rendering the cookie less brittle! Read on for the simple 4 ingredient recipe and treat your dog to something nice. Ingredients 1 1/4 cup milk 1 1/4 cup peanut butter 3/4 cups whole-wheat flour 3/4 cup all purpose flour 1 1/4 tablespoons baking powder Directions Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix milk and peanut butter in a large bowl, until smooth. Combine flours and baking powder in a large bowl. Gradually stir flour mixture into wet ingredients. Knead dough by hand, adding small amounts of milk to the mixture if the consistency is too dry. Roll out dough onto a lightly floured surface to desired thickness and cut out treats with cookie cutter of choice. Bake on cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, modifying timing to adjust for dough thickness and treat size. After the oven has been turned off, treats can be left to cool and dry for several hours before storing. related searches : Tasty Treats
