TFF Martini Noir

By The Recipe Review (Visit website)

I wasn't planning on doing much cooking this week to post on my blog. We leave next week for a mini-vacation and we're planning a yard sale this upcoming weekend, therefore I had several simple, repeat meals on the menu. But I did not want to abandon my friends at Tyler Florence Fridays so I decided to do an easy cocktail. Several of the items for this cocktail I already had on hand (vodka and kalamata olives). With this in mind I selected to feature his Martini Noir from Tyler Florence's Real Kitchen. I was excited, I mean Tyler and alcohol...where could I possibly go wrong.

First, apparently I'm a weakling. I could not drink a whole drink, much less more than a few sips. It was, as you REAL drinkers know, pretty much straight alcohol. I love to get my drink on, but this was not going to happen for me. I could not drink it. Back to my red wine~

But for those who like a strong drink, this is a good choice. Most especially if you like kalamata olives~

Please check out all the great meals and sometimes drinks, that my friends feature at TFF http://tylerflorencefridays.blogspot.com/.

Martini Noir
from Tyler Florence's Real Kitchen

Serves 2

1/2 cup vodka or gin
1 teaspoon dry vermouth
1 tablespoon olive juice from the kalamata olives
6 kalamata olives

Combine the vodka, vermouth, and olive juice in a shaker with ice. Shake it up really well to break up the ice into shards. Strain into 2 martini glasses and garnish each drink with 3 black olives (I used 6). Poke the olives with toothpicks as if you're bobbing for apples.
