Thai Cuisine-Steamed mixed vegetables in Thai sauce, Spicy fried rice with chicken, Steamed noodle soup with prawns & Stir - fried beans with prawns
Stir- fried mixed vegetables ( Stir - fried mixed vegetables in Thai sauce ) Serves : 4 Time required : 20 minutes You need 50 g baby corn , chopped 50 g Chinese cabbage , chopped 50 g carrots , chopped 50 g broccoli , chopped 50 g button mushrooms , chopped 20 ml soy sauce Salt to taste 1 teaspoon vinegar 1 teaspoon pepper 30 ml vegetable stock 1 teaspoon corn flour diluted in 3 teaspoon water 20 ml oil 10 g garlic, sliced 5 g chillies , sliced together Method Heat the oil in a pan. Add the chillies and garlic and saute for a few minute. Add the soy sauce, salt, pepper and sugar and all the vegetables. Mix well and stir - fry for about five minutes. Add the vegetable stock and cook for a few minutes. Stir in the corn flour to thicken the gravy just a little. Mix well and serve hot with steamed rice. Spicy fried rice with chicken Serves : 4 Time required : 20 minutes Ingredients 200 g steamed rice 30 ml oil 100 g boneless chicken , sliced 5 g garlic, sliced 10 g red chillies , sliced lengthwise 5 g soy sauce 1 teaspoon sugar Salt to taste 10 ml chicken stock 3 g fish sauce Method Heat oil in a pan , add the garlic and chillies. Saute for a few minutes, then add the chicken , soy sauce , sugar ,salt, chicken stock and fish sauce. Allow to cook for six to seven minutes, stirring frequently. Add the rice and continue to cook for another five minutes , till most of the moisture has been absorbed. Steamed noodle soup with prawns Serves : 4 Time required : 20 minutes Method 50 g steamed prawns 50 g steamed noodles 50 g bean sprouts 50 g mushrooms , sliced 50 g spring onions, chopped 20 g garlic , roasted and chopped 500 ml chicken stock 2 teaspoon sugar 1 teaspoon pepper powder Salt to taste Method Heat the chicken stock in a pan and add the bean sprouts , spring onions and mushrooms. Allow the stock to come to the boil, then add the steamed noodles and prawns. Stir in the salt , sugar and pepper powder. Stir for another three to four minutes, till all the ingredients are well combined. Remove from heat, sprinkle the roasted garlic on top, and serve hot. Steamed beans with prawns Serves : 4 Time required : 20 minutes You need 200 g string beans , cut into 3 cm pieces 100 g prawns , shelled and deveined 20 ml oyster sauce 1 teaspoon sugar 10 g garlic, sliced 5 g chillies , slit lengthwise 1 teaspoon pepper powder 30 ml oil 20 ml chicken stock Method Heat the oil in a pan, and saute the chillies and garlic. Add the oyster sauce , sugar and pepper powder and mix well. Add the beans and the prawns and stir for two to three minutes , till the beans and the prawns are cooked. Remove from heat and serve hot, with steamed rice.
