Thanksgiving Fail
Ben is en fuego! Check out my view as I opened the garage door this evening! A newly organized, spick-and-span garage, complete with a leaning tower of HAAAaaa! I don’t know why, but seeing this tower of planters, chicken wire and other…stuff?…almost reaching the ceiling, made me laugh incredibly hard. You have to know Ben. Stacking that stuff so high is just so…him. In other news, I was right in my prediction yesterday that I was going to be a hot mess circa 2pm today. Although, the wave of complete exhaustion actually hit around 1:00 – just in time for an afternoon meeting! Tired or not, I knew a good run would help me feel better – and it REALLY did! I hit the treadmill for another 45 minute sesh after work, but this time I tried out a 10 Minute Interval Routine: Time Speed Incline 0-5 4.0 1% 5-10 6.0 1% 10-20 6.5 1% 20-30 7.0 1% 30-40 7.5 1% 40-45 4.0 1% Total 4.7 miles That 7.5 interval was pretty killer, especially since my legs were sore from yesterday, but I cranked it out with the help of The Ellen Show on my mini, personal treadmill tv, and felt WiDe awake by the end! Do you prefer to run to music or tv? Or neither? In more news – CAN YOU BELIEVE THANKSGIVING IS TWO DAYS AWAY?! It completely snuck up on me this year! My Mom and I were on our walk this morning, chatting per usual, when I asked how I could help out on the big day. Our conversation went a little like this… Me: "So what can I bring for Thanksgiving this year?" Mom: "Oh! Umm…well, I’ll pretty much just be making all the traditional stuff, so…" Me: "So I can’t bring or make anything? I found this AWESOME new recipe for a scalloped potato dish that I’ve been wanting to try. I could bring that!" Mom: "Well…we already have two potato dishes…" Me: "But what if we just make a little bit of mashed potatoes this year and I’ll bring the new dish to try out?" Mom: "Well the mashed potatoes, turkey and gravy really just go together so I’m not sure that would really work. Your Dad…your brothers… Hey, you could bring the rolls!" Me: "Gee, Mom! Really? I can bring the rolls?!" THE ROLLS?! FAIL. You can BUY rolls! Come on!!!!! To be fair, the woman is a cooking genius so it would really be detrimental to the entire group to not just let her do her thang on turkey day. In addition to the rolls, she also suggested that I bring a breakfast casserole for the fam to enjoy while we watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (it’s tradition!) so I’m on the hunt for the most spectacular casserole recipe ever. And the best rolls known to man. If that’s all I get to bring, then they’re going to be the best damn rolls and ‘sole ever! If you have any must-try recipes – send ‘em my way! Oh – I’m also bringing my Pumpkin Pie Mousse because it is THAT good, and I want a healthy(er) dessert option. Alrighty. My in-laws are in town just for tonight, so Ben and I are off to go eat dinner with them at my favorite Chinese restaurant in town – Wok in Motion. Kung Pao Chicken, here I come! ‘night! ~~~~~ What are you making/taking for Thanksgiving this year? Do you and your family have any turkey day traditions? Aside from the parade, we always get in some good board games such as Scrabble and Blurt. Good times! related searches : Thanksgiving
