·        Yellow nails can be brightened by rubbing slices oflemon over the discoloured parts.
·        Lemon juice also helps remove sticky plaster stains onskin.
·        Salt is an excellent tooth-whitener (that?s why we alllook so well after a summer swimming in the sea).
·        No time to wash your hair? Dust with cornflour or talcto absorb the  grease, then brush out.
·        To fasten a bracelet unaided, tape one end to yourwrist, leaving the other hand free to do the rest.
 
·        Eyeliner, lip and eyebrow pencils are easier tosharpen if they have been in the freezer for a couple of hours. And nail polishgoes on smoother if it has been refrigerated.
·        If your blonde hair goes green in the swimming pool,rub with tomato juice before shampooing to neutralise the chlorine.
·        A drop of gin makes a good diamond cleaner.
·        If your lipstick snaps in half, melt the two ends overa candle then stick back together.
·        A small amount of hand cream rubbed into the palms ofyour hand and smoothed on flyaway hair makes a great hairspray substitute.
