The Ungourmet's Broccoli Cheddar Bacon Turkey Burgers
Tonight I made The Ungourmet's Broccoli Cheddar Bacon Turkey Burgers. They were out of this world delicious and bursting with yummy flavor! Ok, I couldn't eat them because they have egg in them and my body doesn't like eggs, but I did take a bite and chew on it for awhile. Eli, JD, and Lee, my husband, gave it two thumbs up, the highest Chalfant household rating and I'd have to agree. First of all, it's hard to go wrong with anything that has both cheese and bacon in it! My picture is not as appetizing as The Ungourmet's so you'll have to link over and see for yourself. By the way, she has wonderful recipes, lots of baked stuff and desserts. Her pictures are so mouthwatering sometimes I feel satiated just looking at the images. Now for the best part, for those of you who don't like broccoli and have kids who don't like broccoli, you can't taste it! I did change the recipe a little. I used ground beef instead of turkey and I also substituted good ole pork bacon for the turkey bacon. I didn't have any minced onion and didn't feel like chopping any, so I omitted it. I'm out of fresh garlic so I added a tsp of garlic powder instead. Since the babies are grain and dairy free right now, I omitted the cheese and used grain-free bread crumbs. I'm glad to use up that bread, because while it's ok ground up and mixed in something else, it tastes pretty yucky by itself. The babies also gobbled up their burgers and seemed quite happy about it.
