This though, isn't your normal Super Bowl food - I had planned something involving chili, cream cheese, spicyness, bacon - MEAT! But alas, I am sick and have been for over a week now :( This is a saved item waiting for it's debut, so here we go! Herbed Goat Cheese....
I packed this simple treat (yes treat - I LOVE goat cheese!) to assemble and serve at a family function.
Herbed Goat Cheese
Dried Italian spice mix
You can buy goat cheese in logs. Already shaped and comparable in price to a small tub of goat cheese, it's a great starter. Simple remove from it's wrapper...
....and place on a dish scattered with a few tablespoons of spice mix.
I used Tastefully Simple's Dried Tomato & Garlic Pesto mix - yum yum.
Roll and press until completely covered,
then place on platter.
Serve with crackers or bread slices. I brought along a package of small pumpernickle hoagies - thinly sliced they are the perfect bite-size!
I have many excellent Super- Bowl appropriate dishes in archives -- here are some favorites:
Hot Crab Dip.
Pizza Stuffed Pretzels
Pepper Popper Toasts
