Thoroughly Thursday Gadgets & Gizmos: Microplane Grater
 Knowing how much I love cooking and finding new, useful gadgets, Quinton's got it made at Christmas! Every year he heads out to various kitchen stores and searches out just the right tools for me. Now he's got the kids into the act. They each get to pick something out for me...it's pretty fun to open each one and watch them watch me! The kids get so excited when I open my gadget gifts that they start explaining why they bought it, what it's for and how I can use it. The microplane  is one of the many gadgets I have received over the years and it's a keeper! I get a lot of use out of it. I use it for grating citrus zest; parmesan and other hard cheeses; ginger and garlic; chocolate and nutmeg. It's super easy to clean: just rinse it off and drop it into the dishwasher or wash by hand.
