Time To Give In

By Krista's Kravings (Visit website)

After waking up yet again with a stuffed nose this morning, I waved my white flag and called in sick. We sent all the pays out yesterday so today would?ve been a slow one anyways. I?m one of these people that feels really guilty about missing work unless I?m flat on my back sick. Are you the type of person who feels justified calling in sick regardless of whether it?s a cold or the flu or do you lean more towards pretty much punching the clock no matter how crappy you feel? I always feel like there?s gotta be a happy medium and am always curious on what other people think.

The boys were out of the house by 5:30am for hockey practice and I woke up naturally at 7. This gave me plenty of time to organize the kids, call the office and the sitter and eat breakfast before I drove the kids to school. (Note: the kids always walk back and forth to school from the sitter?s , but we live a bit far for them to walk from our house.) IMG_0636

1 cup water1/2 cup Quaker oats1 tbsp vanilla latte coffee powderwalnuts IMG_0635

I used this vanilla latte powder in my oats today? IMG_0634

?.because there wasn?t enough left for a beverage. I like to do this sometimes as a treat, as well. ;)

I actually ended up having a productive day. I watched Dr. Oz and Rach while stripping all the beds, laundering the sheets and then remaking them. Then I decided that a nice 1/2 hour walk on my treadmill was in order so I hopped on and entertained myself with an episode of Cold Case. I did just over 2 miles and burned about 350 calories. Once off I figured I might as well vacuum the place while I was at it. Forty minutes and another 300 calories later, the house was fur free. Boy, did a shower ever feel nice!

I was starving at this point so lunch was a must. I made an omelette using a 1/4 cup of Egg Beaters, 1 slice of mortadella and a bit of goat?s cheese brie. On the side was an Ezekiel English muffin with a wee bit of peanut hazelnut butter and some grapes. IMG_0639

Dense and hardy?just what I needed to get some energy back! Over the afternoon hours I did a few more loads of laundry, read a few magazines that had been piling up and baked this package of muffins that I bought on a whim: IMG_0632 IMG_0633

They were really really easy to throw together. The package contents, 2 eggs and 1 tbsp of oil. I used Egg beaters and left out the oil. IMG_0641 IMG_0640

I haven?t had one yet, but they seem to have come out fine and my hubby has already eaten 2 so that?s another good indicator! ;)

Supper was the very last of Saturday night?s pork roast, brown rice and orange cauliflower. IMG_0643

What a boring looking plate, eh? LOL! Dessert was anything but boring: IMG_0642

It?s been awhile, but I finally caved and bought some on Sunday. How could I resist this? IMG_0644

I just got back from taking DD to skating. I popped over to the ?big? grocery store while she was on the ice and bought a few new (to me) products. I?ll show ya tomorrow because it?s too dark to get any good picture?s right now.

I hope you?ve all had a great day. Just think, tomorrow is already Friday! WOW!

Bye for now!!
