Tom Ford Accused of Bias Against Overweight Men
Seems fashion designer/movie director Tom Ford doesn't have big love for all of his menswear customers. Ford has been accused of telling Italian photographer and entrepreneur Jean Pigozzi he didn't want big men on the fashion campus of his New York City boutique, the New York Post reports.  Pigozzi, who stands six-foot-four and wears a size XXL, told Vanity Fair's Ingrid Sischy about a weighty exchange with the trim, elegant Ford. "Tom, I went to your shop, I couldn't buy a handkerchief," he recalled. "Tom said, 'You know why? I don't want big fat guys like you in my shop.'"  Tom Ford The photographer told Sischy that not catering to males of the big and tall variety is a mistake because "big guys like me have the money." Not that Pigozzi will be having any troubles finding spiffy duds: He recently brought his three-year-old colorful European label, LimoLand, to a boutique filled with casual menswear in New York City's Meatpacking District. Ford, of course, is not the only designer who's reportedly snubbed the plus-size community. Karl Lagerfeld has come to the defense of skinny models and trashed "fat mummies."
