Top Chef Masters + Great Grains
Good Morning and Happy Saturday!!
I slept in until 8:00am, that is LATE for me! My old body needed the sleep. The Laurelhurst Carnival was a huge hit. I volunteered at the Tic Tac Toe Toss (melllow) and Football Toss (hectic) and was moving the whole time. I came home with a hoarse voice and some tired kids but a good time was had by all. My daughter and I are looking at paint colors trying to determine which orange color to use in the hallway. After spending a winter here in Portland, I discovered that I need as much upbeat colors in my home as possible and I really want to incorporate orange in our house. So far, we have lots of greens of and golds and even a rich brown but I think it would be fun to add a pop of orange! Do any of you have a favorite orange color that you have used in your home?? Zoe and I love: Sherwin Williams Determined Orange Benjamine Moore Rumba Orange Benjamin Moore Tangerine Fusion Any thoughts?? Moving onward and upward, let's talk about food!! I love watching Top Chef and have been watching the new show Top Chef Master's hosted by Curtis Stone. It great fun to watch and Curtis Stone is also the new Post Cereal Great Grains spokesperson. Curtis Stone has partnered with Post Great Grains Cereal to spread his whole-food philosophy starting with breakfast, the most important meal of the day. In a national advertising campaign breaking this month, Stone shows that not all whole grain cereal flakes are created equal and talks about the importance of eating less-processed whole grains for better nutrition. I had a fun package waiting at my door the other day from the kind people at Post Cereal and it was two samples of their new Great Grains Cereal. Great Grains Cranberry Almond Crunch and Great Grains Raisin, Dates and Pecans I immediately cracked into the Great Grains Raisin, Dates and Pecans and was very impressed. Check out the size of the pecan pieces. Yum. I served the Great Grains over some yogurt and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great Grains Rasins, Dates & Pecans has naturally nutritious raisins and dates, wholesome pecans, and whole-grain flakes and clusters. It's also an excellent source of fiber with 31 grams of whole grain per serving. Great Grains Crunchy Pecans contains 72% of your day?s whole grain. My son Emmet loves cranberries and he cracked into the Great Grains Cranberry Almond Crunch. He does not eat his cereal with milk (weird, I know) but he loved this cereal straight up. Great Grains Cranberry Almond Crunch has nutritious cranberries, wholesome almonds, and fiber-packed multi-grain flakes and clusters. Plus it has 26 grams of whole grain in each serving. Great Grains Cranberry Almond Crunch contains 54% of your day?s whole grain. I think this campaign is a start in the right direction and love the fact that it is emphasizing the importance of breakfast (the most important meal of the day) and more importantly less processed foods. For more info check out this video: We are in between activities right now and have been to sparring and the Hollywoods Farmer's Market and are now getting ready for Zoe's soccer game. It is a beautiful day and we plan to spend as much time outside as possible. Have a wonderful afternoon! related searches : Top
