Toronto G20 ? Entertainment Deals

By YummyLocal (Visit website)

G20 Toronto 001

The Toronto restaurant and food scene is held hostage to the chaotic G20 summit and now the Toronto Entertainment Distric Business Improvement Area (BIA) is stepping in to rescue by offering two special promotions to showcase the fine dining establishments who are still open for business during this event.

Promotion #1:  $35 dinner theatre package that includes a ticket to The Second City’s hit show Second City for Mayor: The G-20 Edition and a $15 two-course dinner at a local restaurant.

Participating restaurants:  Cayo Coco, Red Tomato, and Yuzu Sushi & Saki Bar.

Promotion #2:   15% off your dinner during the G20 week at participating restaurants with proof of same-day purchase at any business within the Entertainment District.

Participating restaurants in the 15% off promotion are: 309 Dhaba, Yuzu Sushi and Sake Bar, Big Daddy’s, Lone Star, Grace O’Malley’s, Swiss Chalet, Ame, Mix Bistro, Fred’s Not Here, Red Tomato and The Fifth Social Club.

“Through these special promotions, we have an opportunity to announce to the area residents plus the visiting delegates that they can all come out for dinner, theatre, nightlife and other options during this weekend,” said Janice Solomon, Executive Director of the Entertainment District BIA. “After all, we are a neighbourhood and the residents and businesses of this area are here because they want to be part of this diverse and exciting part of the city. So regardless of the fact that the community will be facing some extraordinary circumstances, there are even more wonderful opportunities available.”

“While Toronto welcomes the world, we welcome our community — residents and businesses alike — to take full advantage of the features and attractions open in the Entertainment District,” said Second City’s Klaus Schuller. “We have a great show and look forward to entertaining our neighbours and visitors over G20″

“Many residents will not be leaving the city over G20 week. We have an opportunity to invite our residential neighbours to spend time in their local community and at the same time let visiting delegates know we’re open for business,” said Fred Luk, owner of the Red Tomato and Fred’s Not Here.
