TruKid Healthy Skin Care for Kids Review and Giveaway ---CLOSED---

Jennifer Adams Bunkers is the founder and CEO of TruKid.  When she first explored the idea of creating a children's skincare product line she was a mother of five with another on the way, and serving as CEO of her international products manufacturing company, Velocity Source Group.  There weren't a lot of children's products on the market for her to choose from, and a lot of the stuff out there was chemical-filled and unhealthy, or smelled "yucky" according to her kids.  While Jennifer was hesitant to use those products on her children, the straw that broke the camel's back was when she found them playfully applying her wrinkle cream.  She realized that a concoction used to zap crows' feet probably wasn't very suitable for their youthful skin, so she set out to make something that was.  Using only natural ingredients, and essential oils to make scents that children love, she created an easy system, made up of products accompanied with fun songs and poems, that kids would want to use themselves.



When it came to developing an effective and reliable product line, Jennifer was able to use her fifteen-plus years of experience in sourcing, product development and manufacturing. Before launching TruKid, Jennifer created two companies and acted as CEO to both. In addition to Velocity Source Group, she founded Funopolis, a toy company that sold products to stores nationwide. Furthermore, she has won a number of Parents' Choice Awards for her children's products.



By combining all natural skincare with fun and education, TruKid cultivates a relationship between healthy habits and being a kid.  In turn, their goal is that kids will grow up taking care of themselves, each other and their environment. Jennifer provided me with the shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and sunscreen.  All their products are BPA and Phthatale free!  They include certified organic and natural ingredients and are always SLS, paraben, 1-4 Dioxane and Gluten-free!  The new sunscreen formula does not contain vitamin A and is better and safer than ever! 



All of the products have an amazing citrus scent that I just love.  After her first bath with these products the dog kept following us around wanting to lick her, lol.  He has since learned that she doesn't actually taste like she smells.  The bath wash and shampoo get her clean without drying her skin and the lotion moisturizes without being oily.  As you can see from the pictures I post, Monkey Girl has very little hair, so we have not used conditioner on her yet.  However, the other day I took a shower in her bathroom and forgot to bring my shampoo and conditioner.  I used the TruKid products and they worked great on my adult hair too! 



It had been cold and windy here for a while so we had not been taking Monkey Girl outside for any time period long enough to use sun screen.  On Saturday it was finally nice enough and we took a walk to the elementary school down the street to play on the playground, and then spent time out in the back yard playing with the puppy.  We used the TruKid sunscreen and it worked great.  It went on smooth and was not oily.  Towards the end she was getting sleepy and rubbing her eyes.  I was worried that she would rub the sunscreen into her eyes and that it would hurt, but that never happened!



Overall, I am very impressed with these products and would recommend them to anyone.
