Turkey Mapo Tofu
I love Chinese food and I love spicy food. I felt like eating both so I decided to cook this famous Szechuan recipe. As always, I made some substitutes to make this dish healthier and also because I don’t eat a lot of pork. I also didn’t add any black beans because they are too salty for my taste. Turkey Mapo Tofu What you need: - medium to firm tofu (cut into 1/2 inch squares) - ground turkey (I used this instead of the traditional ground pork) - Chinese red chili paste - oyster sauce - onions (dice) - soy sauce - olive oil (you can use any other oil you want but I tend to use olive oil in all my dishes) 1. Heat oil then cook diced onions 2. Add in ground turkey. Cook with soy sauce (1-2 teaspoons), red chili paste (I like it spicy so I add about 1/4 cup or more) and oyster sauce 3. Once the ground meat and sauce is done cooking, mix in the tofu squares and cook for 3-5 minutes. Don’t leave it in too long because you don’t want it to get mushy.
