Untraditional

By empowering wellness through innovation - Imagination to Burn (Visit website)

Overall I am living life very untraditionally.  For starters, I just moved into a new house with my boyfriend.  Nope, we aren’t married, nor are we engaged, but we made one of the biggest moves of our lives and purchased our first home together.  This is certainly untraditional.

Another untraditional area of my life is my use of recipes, or lack there of.  I rarely use recipes.  Instead, I take an idea or concept and create recipes in my head, untraditionally.  An example of this would be the spinach salad I created the other day.  A “traditional” spinach salad consists of raw spinach, hard boiled egg, maybe some red onion and raw mushroom, maybe chicken breast, and some type of bacon dressing or vinaigrette.  In the summer you may order a spinach salad with fresh berries or dried fruit.  Not my spinach salad!  My untraditional spinach salad included:

Spinach

Hard boiled egg

Ground turkey breast seasoned with basil and cinnamon

Cooked broccoli and cauliflower

Blue cheese dressing

I love to be innovative and untraditional in the kitchen.  What are some ways you are untraditional and innovative in the kitchen?
