Very Yummy Chocolate Brownies.
Sounds a little boring, i know. It's something that we all make, and something that we all have our own recipe for. It's a bit like putting up a recipe for sponge cake, or pancake mixture. Been there, done that and you can do it with your eyes shut. You've probably all been making them since you were tall enough to mix in a bowl at the counter with your Mum, but that doesn't mean that i can't tell you how to do it better. No siree it doesn't.
Really, i'm being a little hypocritical here. I didn't even make these brownies myself. The last time i made brownies myself (using a Jamie Oliver recipe), they were a disaster. However long i cooked them for, they remained a gooey mess stuck in one of my tins. I ate it with a spoon, and as delicious as it was, it certainly wasn't a batch of brownies. It was warm gooey chocolate soup with a crusty top. I could have chilled it for as long as i liked and still not been able to cut it into solid slices. Alas! I came across these at the spread that my friend Jenny put on for her 23rd birthday this weekend. Everybody went mad over them, and needless to say, they didn't last long. I asked her for the recipe, and she pulled out a little note book and gave it to me. It is far more simple than any other i have come across, and because of this, i don't even feel the need to try it myself before giving it to you. Something this simple has to be a no-brainer. Plus it is a family recipe, and i've got an instinctive trust in anything that a mother passes down. So thank you Mumma Rowe. Here's how to make the best brownies in the World- West Yorkshire at the very least... You will need: 150g Margarine 150g melted chocolate3 eggs225g caster sugar125g plain flourChocolate chunks/ raisins/ nuts/ anything your heart desiresMelt the chocolate, sugar and margarine in a bowl. Add the flour and eggs. Add the chocolate chunks (or anything) to taste. Pour into a greased tin (those bendy plastic ones are great), and bake at 180c for 15-20 minutes. Cool and slice. Told you it was simple.
