Wagamama?s and the Larabar Blog
It was such an unexpectedly gorgeous fall day in Boston this afternoon– so there was no way I was simply heading home to my apartment after Healthworks. I called Mal and asked him if he wanted to join me downtown for some lunch, my treat! Of course, he agreed and we met at Park Street about an hour later. Our pick for lunch was easy: Wagamama’s! For lunch, I ordered the Grilled Yasai Salad, which was marinated and grilled eggplant, portabella mushroom and squash, combined with caramelized red onion, roasted sweet potato, asparagus, diced tomato and served with mixed leaves, served with whole wheat noodles and garnished with pickled red ginger and sesame seeds. It was awesome– all of my favorite veggies in one meal! :) There were a ton of marinated and roasted veggies hidden beneath the whole wheat noodles. I pretty much ate all of the veggies and the noodles, but left quite a bit of the greens. The combination of noodles and volume-packed veggies did the trick. They filled my stomach right up! After lunch, Mal and I considered strolling around and window shopping in Faniuel Hall, but the weather turned cold, and I was not prepared. I didn’t bring my warm hat, gloves, or winter coat, so it was time to head home! At home, I warmed up with a mug of Earl Grey tea and a handful of peanut butter and chocolate chips. Before my workout (and after my shift at HW), I snacked on a Ginger Snap Larabar to fuel me through my workout and hold me over until lunch. Speaking of Larabars, look what blog was featured on the Larabar Blog!!!!! How cool is that!?! This is easily the most exciting thing that has happened to Carrots ‘N’ Cake! Larabars are my favorite (obsession)!!! The Sunday Blues are easily cured with a little baking and good tunes! Be back later tonight with a yummy recipe!
