Watermelon Blaster
I’m always looking for refreshing summer beverage ideas. When it comes to juices and smoothies, I love to experiment! So this recipe and photo from MarthaStewart.com got my attention. I love watermelon, strawberries, and lime, so I didn’t see how I could go wrong with this combination! This is a thicker type of juice drink?the consistency is kind of like orange juice with pulp in it…it’s a juice that has a little texture, you could say. INGREDIENTS: 3 cups cubed watermelon (seeds removed) 1 1/2 cups strawberries (stems removed) 3 Tbsp. lime juice (fresh or bottled) 1 cup ice cubes Sugar or honey to taste Put watermelon, strawberries, lime juice, ice, and sugar or honey, if desired, into a blender; blend on high speed until smooth. If your blender doesn’t crush ice cubes very well, you may want to use the crushed ice that you can buy in bags. In the picture, you’ll notice a little star garnish on the glass. That actually was made from watermelon rind. To do this, just press a cookie cutter through the rind with the back of a wooden spoon. Then make a slit in the shape and add to the rim of your glass.
