What a lovely day :)
Today was absolutely fantastic. The perfect fall weather! It was 20 degrees and sunny, which made my trip to the market absolutely delightful. I adore the market, it is so full of life and beautiful colors, beautiful food, and wonderful people. I finally got to sleep in this morning which was a wonderful treat! After waking up at 9am, I strolled downstairs and made a wonderful treat: This would be a warm oatmeal-pecan peach. amazing! Step 1) Core peach. I got lazy and used the apple cutter (the circular thing with all the blades for a 1-step cut job). Step 2) Fill with quick cooking oats and pecans, and drizzle with honey Step 3) Microwave for 35 seconds. Step 4) Enjoy! Yummers! I had a poached egg on toast along side the wonderful peach: Mmm perfectly poached! My trick: boil water with a splash of white vinegar. And then bring down to a slight simmer. It turned out great! Yay! I obviously had tea to go with this: Vanilla Roobios! I ended up with way too much reading material today randomly! I stopped by Chapters on my way to the market today and picked up some essentials: Then I cam across this and had to buy it: Note the price!: Next, I stopped by the LCBO to buy some cooking alcohols, and noticed that the new Food & Drink magazine is out, so I obviously picked it up! (Also, there was a free tasting session going on, so I tried some really good local chardonnay with some really amazing crostinis. I love it!) Little did I know that this magazine (which I absolutely LOVE!) Came iwth 3 other free magazines… this one included: lol! And it came with FREE popcorn! What a day! The boyfriend insisted I immediately try it out: It was ok! Very spicy! I love when days like this happen… everything just seems to fall in place today:) Now I’m off to prepare dinner. The Menu: Soup with Baby Bok Choy Pan Seared New York Striploin Roasted Sweet Potato Wedges Roasted Asparagus (for me) Whole grain rice (for him) Healthified Oatmeal Raisin Cookies for desert! P.S. If you ever have free time on your hands, I highly suggest you check out Opinion Outpost. I’ve made like 10$ on my free time just by doing surveys online. In this recession that we went through, I find that every little bit helps for me. I figured why not?! If I have time to sit on the couch and watch TV, I have time for this. I just wanted to share as this is super genius! Awesome boredom killer lol. Have a lovely Saturday everyone! Question of the day: Have you ever had one of those lucky days where good things seem to never end? If so, what happened? Also, do you have a Chapter’s obsession? I know I do, especially when it comes to healthy cooking and/or traditional cook books. Also yoga books. And Stationery. lol
