What a week!

By Diva Weigh (Visit website)

This past week has been a busy one.  We sold our lake house and have been busy with that.  It is a house that we did extensive remodeling on.  Things like removing a wall to open up the kitchen area into the living area, completely redid the kitchen-new cabinets, counters, appliances and built a kitchen island, retiled the entire house and replaced carpet in the bedrooms, painted inside and out, removed the popcorn from the ceiling and poured a patio in the front and built a pretty awesome deck out back, if I do say so myself.  My DH is quite skilled in all of the construction aspects of remodeling and is especially skilled in the design and building of the deck.  We listed it thinking we would have at least a couple of months to finish off a few little things and enjoy it a little while longer but we quickly got an offer and the buyer was wanting to close fast.

It is a good thing/bad thing.  We were happy to get a motivated buyer but, dang! we are wiped!  My house is now full of the things I brought back from the lake house and I new have to find places here to store it all!  And forget about the garage!  My DH loves tools as much as I love kitchen gadgets!  He's got his work cut out for him getting all that put away so we can again park both our vehicles in there.

With all this flurry of activity, my cooking has been very simple.  No new recipes, just old stand-bys and sometimes I have even made the dreaded Hamburger Helper for DH because he loves it so.  (I usually have yogurt with fruit when he has the dreaded HH.)

I have managed to get out for morning runs or walks 5 times last week.  Still pretty much just me out there.  The weather has been really nice.  Don't know where all the peeps went.

Last week's weigh-in was down .6.  Still losing ounces but still losing.

My protein experiment seems to be serving me well.  I find I am less hungry in the times between meals when I eat lean protein.  When I include protein in my afternoon snack it helps get me through dinner and the evening without any out of control eating.  I will continue this.  I do include plenty of fiber with each meal too.  That may be helping with keeping me full too.

Hopefully things will return to normal around here soon.  I'm taking an online photography class and have fallen a bit behind in that and I'm anxious to take pictures and catch up and return to my mad scientist cooking!
